Buying real estate in Panama?

Lots of Americans are currently moving into the Panama real estate market. Panama is conveniently located 2.5 hours from Miami, and 4.5 hours from NYC. The current market uses the American Dollar as currency. A foreigner can buy property that is titled, and the vast majority of homes and land are available as so.

It is highly recommended that you purchase local homeowner's insurance. If you intend to purchase to flip, don't forget to include the 2% capital gain tax. There are certain limitations about foreigners buying islands.
