Yellow Taxis for Panama
By October 2007 all taxis in Panama will have a single color. Government officials have mandated the color migration for nearly 45 thousand taxis, following the trend of other international cities.
Most of the taxi drivers welcome the change, but complain about the steep cost of painting the vehicles, an estimated $1500. The minimum price to ride a taxi is $1 and to go from the airport to the city costs $20.
