I’ll be traveling to Panama in a few weeks. I’m an American citizen I was married 8 years ago and the name on my passport is my maiden name and different from the name on my drivers license—which is also the name in which my ticket was purchased. I have a copy of my marriage license. I called the embassy and they said as long as I have a valid drivers license and a tourist card I don’t need a passport. Is that accurate information? thanks , ...

Hi there:
U.S citizens only need visa or tourist card to enter Panama. If you can find a way of translating this link, you can verify it for yourself.http://www.ipat.gob.pa/visita_panama/requisitos.html . That is the Panamenian Tourism Institute.
If you want even further verification Consulate General Of Panama, (212) 840-2450, 1212 Ave Of The Americas, New York, NY 10036
Thanks,

I think if that Guy really wants to go there, he should just go to the Panamian embassy. They will give him all the information he needs.
